Start Business
I was recently visited by a good friend who we went to university together. He's still working in the architecture, and this was our first meeting since I left this job to do my job. business♪
During his visit, we talked a lot about the architecture industry as a whole, about what we don't like, and why I finally thought it wasn't what I wanted. I was describing the moments in my work when I was designing a high-end luxury apartment in the Lower East Side, and I thought, "If I stay on my job, I'd never be able to live like this."
It's not like I'm dreaming of a luxury penthouse and a manual closet made for a $700,000 order, but I dreamed of financial freedom and travel, just like working for myself.
As I pointed out in my previous material, while I was working in the architecture, I started doing a side project on Calm The Ham, which, after 18 months of hard work, started to bring good money, especially as compared to the $400,000 a year I received at work (which is not enough for life in New York).
I could've done Calm The Ham only at night on the weekends and nights, which gradually became more complicated and more difficult, because I had to balance my work with my new life.
In six months, my priority was to leave my more stable job, I always thought, and what if I had enough time and resources to do my new project all the time? What would I create if I focused on that?
Then there were negative thoughts. I didn't have an MBA diploma. I've never been to business in high school. What do I know about business management and development? No, I wasn't going to quit my job and go to the MBA program, but then open the business.
